Riot Games Secures $7 Million From Benchmark Capital And FirstMark Capital

Riot Games, a two-year-old independent games developer and publisher, has received $7 million in a round of funding from Benchmark Capital and FirstMark Capital, as reported on our sister site mocoNews. The company also brought on two new members to its board Mitch Lasky, partner at Benchmark and longtime gaming executive, and Rick Heitzmann, partner at FirstMark. Riot is led by its 26-year-old CEO Brandon Beck and 27-year-old president and CMO Marc Merrill. The publisher plans to release its first title later this year.
