Ricky Martin brings Latin flavor to "Glee"
(CBS) "Glee" had a Spanish accent Tuesday night when Latin singer Ricky Martin guest starred as a former tooth model and night-school instructor recruited to be the next McKinley High Spanish teacher. (Does this mean more Ricky Martin appearances?)
Playing the toothy David Martinez, Martin brought high energy, zest and gyrating hips to the Fox hit show with his bilingual performance of "Sexy and I Know It."
The hour-long show also featured performances of Madonna's "La Isla Bonita" with Martin and Naya Rivera; "Bamboleo/Hero" by the New Directions males; "Don't Wanna Lose You" by Amber Riley and "La Cucuracha" and "A Little Less Conversation" by Matthew Morrison and some of the Glee Club members.
Whether this translates into a recurring part for Martin, who reached 5 million followers on Twitter this week, is yet to be seen. The 40-year-old Puerto Rican-born pop singer has a lot of other projects in the works, including a return to Broadway in "Evita."
