Report: Ted Kennedy To Endorse Obama

Sen. Edward M. Kennedy will endorse Barack Obama on Monday, adding potentially more momentum to the Obama campaign after his big primary win in South Carolina.

CNN and ABC News have reported the Kennedy endorsement, and a Senate source has confirmed the news to The Crypt. Kennedy's office did not return phone calls or e-mails Sunday morning.

Kennedy's endorsement will come one day after John F. Kennedy's daughter Caroline Kennedy wrote a passionate op-ed titled "A President Like My Father," in the New York Times, endorsing Obama.

Senate endorsements for presidential candidates don't necessarily move votes during primaries, but Obama needs the support of high profile Democrats like Kennedy if he's going to compete with Hillary Clinton in major states on Super Tuesday, Feb. 5.
