Report: Mel Gibson May Face Domestic Violence Charges
(CBS) The New York Post reports that Mel Gibson is expected to be charged with domestic violence for assaulting his infant daughter's mother, Oksana Grigorieva. The Post reports that Gibson's criminal lawyer made a final attempt to convince authorities not to file charges against him in a two-hour meeting with a Los Angeles deputy district attorney.
Gibson, the director and star of "Braveheart" and the star of many other successful films, including the "Lethal Weapon" series, faces up to four years in state prison if convicted of a felony charge and one year in county prison if convicted of a misdemeanor, reports the Post.
Tapes allegedly of Gibson and Grigorieva arguing on the phone surfaced last year in which the two hurl insults and accusations at each other. Grigorieva has claimed that Gibson punched her.
