Remind Yourself to Attach That File
Lost in hubbub about Gmail Lab's silly new Mail Googles feature - which asks you to perform a series of math problems before sending late night messages on the weekend - is a real add-on that doesn't require you to be tipsy to appreciate. It's the Forgotten Attachment Detector, which prompts you to attach a file if you mention one in your email but forget to clip it on. Simply go to the settings of your account, click on "labs," and enable the feature.
I'm not exactly sure how it works - I was able to send messages with the word "attachment" and "file" without a prompt from the feature but not "see attached" and "see attachment." But even if it only catches a percentage of the time I make that mistake, it's a worthwhile add on.
