Raptors Edge Warriors 100-98 In OT

The Toronto Raptors ended a horrible road trip on a positive note.

Doug Christie scored 24 points, including two free throws with 19.3 seconds left in overtime, as the Raptors rallied to beat Golden State 100-98 Sunday night.

The Raptors, who had lost the first five games of their road trip, overcame an 11-point deficit in the final 3:42 of regulation and went on to sweep their two-game season series from the Warriors.

"We finally got one win on this long, miserable road trip," said Marcus Camby, who had 23 points, 16 rebounds and five blocks for the Raptors.

Todd Fuller's free throw with 2:18 left in OT put the Warriors up 96-94, but the Raptors scored the next six points.

Ben Wallace's two free throws with 1:13 left gave Toronto a 98-96 lead, and Christie's free throws gave the Raptors their first four-point lead of the game.

Golden State scored 59 points in the first half, but got only 39 over the next two quarters and overtime. The Warriors missed 11 of 13 shots in the extra period.

"You can't just get a 10-point lead and feel like you're sitting on top of the world," said Golden State's Donyell Marshall, who had 19 points and 15 rebounds but was only 7-for-22 from the field. "We have to understand teams won't back down against us."

Toronto, which gave up 152 points in a loss to the Los Angeles Clippers on Friday night, trailed 90-79 with 3:42 left in regulation before scoring the next 13 points. Camby's putback with 31.6 seconds remaining gave the Raptors a 92-90 lead, their first of the game.

Golden State's Jimmy Jackson drove for a tying basket with 15.1 seconds left, and the game went to overtime after Christie missed a fadeaway 13-footer and Clarence Weatherspoon grabbed the rebound.

Weatherspoon finished with 18 points and 20 rebounds for the Warriors.

The Warriors opened an early 16-point lead and were up 34-23 after the first period, only their third double-digit first-quarter lead of the season.

Golden State outrebounded the Raptors 21-7 in the period, including a 10-2 edge in offensive boards.

Camby scored eight points in the second quarter, but the Raptors trailed at halftime 59-48.

Notes: The Warriors made two roster moves, signing guard Gerald Madkins to a second 10-day contract and activating forward Duane Ferrell from the injured list. ... Guard Bimbo Coles will undergo surgery Tuesday to remove bone spurs on his right big toe. .. Toronto has been outrebounded in 16 straight games.
