SANTA BARBARA, Calif. (CBS/AP) Police say Randy and Evi Quaid have struck again! The couple was arrested Saturday after the current owner of the Quaids' old home reported that they had been living in his guest house without his permission.

When Santa Barbara County sheriff's deputies arrived at the house Saturday evening, they discovered the alleged squatters. They say the duo insisted that they had owned the property since the 1990s.

However, a representative of the property's current owner provided evidence contrary to their claim.

According to the representative's documents, his client has purchased the home in 2007 from a man who had purchased it from the Quaids several years earlier.

In addition to the illegal squatting, the unwanted house guests are also accused of causing $5,000 worth of damage during their stay.

Following the incident, the Santa Barbara County sheriff's department charged the Quaids with felony residential burglary and entering a noncommercial building without consent, a misdemeanor.

Evi Quaid, 47, one-upped her husband and was hit with an additional misdemeanor: resisting arrest.

The Quaids are no strangers to the Santa Barbara legal system.

Last September, the couple was charged with defrauding an innkeeper or more than $10,000, as well as conspiracy and burglary after an invalid credit card was used at a ranch in Montecito and a luxury resort in Santa Barbara. The couple agreed to a plea deal, where Evi's charges were reduced to misdemeanors, and Randy's were dropped entirely.
