Raiders' DE Bruce Arrested
Oakland Raiders defensive end Aundray Bruce was arrested by Atlanta police and charged with offering an undercover police officer $20 for oral sex.
The arrest Thursday night came five days after Atlanta Falcons safety Eugene Robinson was arrested on a similar solicitation charge in Miami the night before the Super Bowl.
Atlanta police spokesman John Quigley said Bruce, a former Falcons first-round NFL draft pick, stopped his rental car on Metropolitan Parkway at 9 p.m. Thursday. After he allegedly made the offer to the female officer, other officers stopped Bruce and arrested him. They also towed away his rental car, Quigley said.
Bruce was selected No. 1 overall by the Falcons in the 1988 draft. He left the Falcons in 1991 to play for the Raiders. He now lives in Alabama.
Bruce spent Thursday night at the Atlanta city jail. Quigley said officials have often held sex crime suspects in jail for 24 hours before they are allowed to post bonds.
