Prisoner attempts suitcase escape in Mexico

(CBS/AP) CHETUMAL, Mexico - According to police, Maria del Mar Arjona had everything packed in her bag when she left a Mexican prison after a conjugal visit with her husband - including her husband.

Gerardo Campos, spokesman for the police, said Arjona, 19, appeared to be nervous as she struggled with wheeling her bulky suitcase from the prison in Chetumal.

Guards stopped and searched Arjona's bag and allegedly found Juan Ramirez Tijerina curled in the fetal position, half naked, in her luggage.

Ramirez was convicted in 2007 for illegal weapons possession and is serving a 20-year sentence.

Arjona was arrested and charges are pending.
