(CBS) Prince William and Kate are gearing up for their North American tour next week, and a new official photo of the royal couple has been released to mark their big trip.

The newlyweds, now known as the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge, don matching midnight blue outfits and flash their best smiles in the photo taken on June 3 in the garden of Clarence House.

The duchess, who kept her hair down for the shot, appears to be wearing the same fitted Amanda Wakeley jacket she wore during the couple's last pre-wedding trip to Darwen, England, in April.

Their eight-day, multi-city tour of Canada, which kicks starts on Julne 30, will mark their first official overseas trip as a married couple. It will also be the duchess' first-ever trip to North America.

"Catherine and I are very much looking forward to our Tour of Canada," William said in a statement. "We hope to be able to meet as many people as possible and to see as much of the extraordinary and diverse country as we can."

He adds: "I have wonderful memories from my last times in Canada, and as such we consider it a great privilege to have been invited to Canada for our first joint Tour."

Following their royal tour of Canada, the couple will travel to Los Angeles from July 8-10, where they will visit schools and charities and attend a black-tie affair, among other engagements.
