Prince Harry to Attend Brit Awards

Prince Harry is making his Brit Awards debut, CBS News entertainment contributor Neil Sean reports.

The British prince will attend the annual awards show for the first time next week, according to Sean, as part of a PR onslaught to modernize the royals.

His girlfriend, Chelsy Davy, will also be in attendance.

The Brit Awards, or the Brits, are the British Phonographic Industry's pop music awards. The honors began in 1980, making this year the award show's 30th anniversary.

According to the award show's Web site, a congratulatory message from Prince Harry will be aired during this year's broadcast, acknowledging the milestone birthday.

Lady Gaga, Lily Allen, Taylor Swift, Bruce Springsteen and Pixie Lott are among the 2010 nominees. Noticeably absent from the list, however, is "Britian's Got Talent" competitor and overnight Internet sensation Susan Boyle, whose debut record, "I Dreamed a Dream," topped the Billboard Album chart.

The Brit Awards winners will be announced on Feb. 16, during a ceremony at Earl's Court Arena in London.
