Primary Day Feels Like Springtime

(CBS)
From CBS News' Scott Conroy:

SALEM, N.H. -- It's heating up in New Hampshire. Literally.

After an usually snowy December, the high temperature in the southern part of the state is expected to pass 60 degrees today, which could be a recipe for high voter turnout. CBS News asked Mitt Romney how that would affect his chances here.

"I really don't know," Romney said at his fourth electioneering stop of the morning. "It's good news — we get real democracy here. It'll be a real model for the world to show that Americans care about this and show up to vote."

Romney shook hands with a few voters entering the town hall here and greeted some sign-holding supporters of other candidates

"Vote for Ron Paul," one man said as he shook Romney's hand.

"Not likely," Romney replied.

As Romney waited for more voters to enter the precinct, a woman asked the former Massachusetts governor to come closer to the entrance so that she could meet him.

"I can't get that close, or I'll go to jail," Romney joked.
