Preserve Your Text Messages with Treasuremytext

Free Web service Treasuremytext archives and organizes text messages. All you do is forward any messages you want to save from your phone to the appropriate Treasuremytext number (the service has individual numbers for the U.S./Canada, Europe, and the U.K.).

Later, head to the Treasuremytext site to review your messages, add notes to them, and organize them into custom folders. You can also compose new text messages to send to any carrier; they'll appear to have come directly from your phone. However, you'll pay 0.05 Euros per message for the privilege.

Other than that, Treasuremytext is free. iPhone users should check out the Treasuremytext iPhone app (which requires a jailbroken iPhone). Obviously it would be great to have some kind of automated SMS-backup capability, but until that option arrives, this is the next best thing. [via Lifehacker]
