Port of Oakland official expensed $4,500 spent at Texas strip club, report says

(CBS) OAKLAND - High ranking Port of Oakland official James Kwon is under investigation for spending thousands of dollars in public funds for a party at a Houston strip club, CBS San Francisco reports.

According to the station, Kwon, maritime operations director since 2007, entertained about a dozen shipping industry executives, racking up a tab of $4,500 at Treasures, a gentleman's club in Houston, Texas.

The receipt submitted for the reception said that it was held at the name of the strip club's parent company, D. Houston Inc.

Port commissioners held an emergency closed meeting on Friday to discuss the case, according to the San Francisco Chronicle. Port officials said that they were working to strengthen their expense reimbursement policies.
