Poll: Does Your Wi-Fi Hotspot Discourage Laptops?

As counter-intuitive as that sounds, the Wall Street Journal ran a story last week contending that coffee shops are pulling the plug on laptop users.

I'm not so sure. Personally, I've seen no evidence of a trend towards Wi-Fi equipped coffee shops or restaurants turning away laptop users here in Seattle.

But the article is chock full of anecdotes of stores covering electrical outlets and shooing away laptop users even when there are plenty of seats available for other customers.
