Police still seeking clues in 2007 murder of Florida mom

DELRAY BEACH, Fla. -- Police are still searching for the person who shot South Florida woman Randi Gorenberg eight years ago and abandoned her body on the side of the road, reports CBS Miami.

To mark the anniversary of Gorenberg's unsolved murder, Monday morning her mother, Idey Elias, and the Palm Beach County Sheriff's Office renewed their calls for help finding the killer.

"Each year, contrary to the belief that things get better with time, they don't," Elias said at a news conference, according to the Florida Sun-Sentinel. "They get worse."

Gorenberg, a 52-year-old wife and mother of two, was seen leaving a Boca Raton, Fla., mall at approximately 1:16 p.m. on March 23, 2007. Half an hour later, a witness called 911 and said she heard gunshots and witnessed a woman being pushed from the passenger side of a black 2007 Mercedes Benz SUV, Gorenberg's car.

The vehicle was later abandoned at a nearby Home Depot. Gorenberg's Kooba purse, cell phone and white PUMA sneakers were stolen and never recovered.
