Police: Philadelphia eviction notice leads to booby trap discovery
PHILADELPHIA -- While attempting to evict a couple from their home, law enforcement officials found a shotgun booby trap, reports CBS Philadelphia.
Members of the Philadelphia Sheriff's Office were reportedly called to the property to evict a couple living there. When they arrived and spotted several dogs, animal control was called -- and at some point, Philadelphia police officers were called as well.
The couple finally came out and warned officers that there had been traps set up in the home for security reasons. Law enforcement then spotted what appeared to be two shotguns that were booby trapped to go off, according to the station.
The bomb squad was called to the scene, where they were able to release the traps without incident.
The discovery is currently being investigated, according to CBS Philadelphia. There were no reports of any injuries and the couple is being now questioned by the police.
