Ari and Jordan Shlasinger were charged late Thursday. Christopher Turner was found lying dead in a yard earlier in the day.

Turner, a former guard for the Eastern Carolina Pirates, was taken to a nearby hospital, where he later died.

Turner played in 10 games for East Carolina in the 2009-10 season, averaging 4.3 points.

Turner's step-brother Kellen Corley told WNCN that Turner had just been released from prison after serving 18 months for a 2013 robbery. Corley said he believes the shooting was payback for that incident.

Turner was shot three times, twice in the chest and once in the back, according to Corley.
