Police Arrest 6 In $92M British Heist

Police detained six suspects Wednesday in Britain's biggest-ever cash robbery, hours after searching a van suspected of being used to transport the money.

The new arrests bring the number of suspects to 13 in the investigation of the theft of $92 million at a cash depot south of London.

Earlier Wednesday, staff went back to work at Securitas Cash Management Ltd. for the first time at the warehouse in Tonbridge, 30 miles southeast of London.

"We are just trying to get back to normal. It's obviously a big disruption to all of them," Securitas spokesman Carl Courtney said.

The 14 employees who were held hostage by the robbers will not return until "they and their counselors decide the time is right," Courtney added.

Police refused to comment on reports that money had been recovered from a farm near Tonbride, but officers spent a fourth day at the address conducting searches.

Previously, police said they recovered about 1.3 million pounds (about $2.27 million) of the stolen cash.
