Plan and Schedule Projects Online in an Interactive Gantt Chart
Many people have a love/hate relationship with Gantt charts -- they're a great way to visualize a project and all the resources you need to get the job done, the best Gantt tools, like Microsoft Project, are expensive and difficult to use. Here's an interactive, Web-based alternative that just might get the job done.
Ganttic is a Flash-based Web app that lets you visualize your project in the form of a Gantt chart. I've found that it's about as straight-forward to use as any project management tool I've seen, and it's fully interactive. Multiple people can be logged in and using the site simultaneously, and changes are reflected instantly on everyone's display.
Getting started is pretty simple. Just create your project, add resources, and start dragging and dropping them into the timeline. Ganttic isn't well equipped to handle dependency mapping or status reporting, but if your needs are modest (and you're not a whiz with the more arcane aspects of Microsoft Project to begin wi6th) then Ganttic might be just the thing for you.
The service is free for 5 users and 10 resources; beyond that, you pay about a dollar per resource or user per month. Want to learn more? Check out the video:
