Pens' Kasparaitis May Miss Season
Pittsburgh Penguins defenseman Darius Kasparaitis underwent a series of tests Monday after injuring his right knee in an exhibition game Sunday night at Detroit.
At the time, the Penguins said Kasparaitis might have torn his anterior cruciate ligament while tangled with the Red Wings' Darryl Laplante.
"We don't know," Pittsburgh coach Kevin Constantine said Monday. "We haven't done enough tests to make a definite evaluation. It may not be as severe as it seemed last night."
Kasparaitis screamed in pain after slamming into the boards and grabbed his knee in pain. A few seconds later, he tore off his gloves and threw them at the glass in disgust.
