(CBS/AP) NEW YORK - Police say a body discovered in a park is that of a pregnant Staten Island woman reported missing in early August, and a man has been charged in connection with her death, according to CBS New York.

Pedro Martin, 27, also of Staten Island, was reportedly arrested on Saturday night and charged with second degree murder in the death of 20-year-old Megan Marotte.

Marotte was reportedly last seen on August 4. Her body was found by police in Willowbrook Park on August 16 after two women called 911 reporting a foul odor.

The station reports Marotte was pregnant and she lived about half a mile from the park where her body was found. Her family had only recently learned she was due to give birth.

Marotte was reportedly arrested last month after allegedly crashing her car into a 9/11 memorial. She has also struggled with drug addiction, according to the station.

NYPD says there were no obvious signs of trauma to the body and investigation is ongoing.

The medical examiner will determine the cause of death.
