Paris Hilton's Boyfriend Cy Waits Facing Felony Charge

LAS VEGAS (CBS/AP) Cy Waits, boyfriend of socialite Paris Hilton, is facing criminal charges stemming from his arrest with Hilton last summer on the Las Vegas Strip.

A complaint filed Thursday charges 35-year-old Cy Waits with a felony of being under the influence of marijuana, and misdemeanor driving under the influence and possession of marijuana.

The former nightclub mogul could face up to four years in prison on the felony charge.

Police say an officer stopped the SUV Waits was driving Aug. 27 after smelling marijuana smoke coming from the vehicle.

Waits is due for arraignment Feb. 17. His lawyer, David Chesnoff, said Waits is not guilty.

Hilton is serving a year of probation after pleading guilty to misdemeanor cocaine possession and obstruction charges in the case.

Waits was reportedly relieved of his managerial duties at the Wynn Las Vegas and Encore following the arrest.
