Pacers Top Clippers For 7 In A Row

Rik Smits scored 23 points and Reggie Miller hit a clutch 3-pointer as the Indiana Pacers held off the Los Angeles Clippers 99-92 Sunday night for their seventh consecutive victory.

Miller's shot with 13.5 seconds left helped send the Clippers to their eighth straight loss, and 10th in a row against Indiana. The Pacers have won 11 of 12.

Rodney Rogers scored 17 points and Lorenzen Wright grabbed 17 rebounds for the Clippers, who have lost all seven home games this season against Eastern Conference opponents. They haven't beaten the Pacers since Dec. 13, 1992, at the Sports Arena.

The Pacers missed their first six 3-point attempts and were in danger of ending their streak of 126 straight games with one until Miller let fly from the top of the arc over rookie Maurice Taylor.

Miller gave the Pacers their final points, and marked only their second field goal since Jalen Rose's 16-foot jumper with 7:05 to play.
