Over-The-Top Holiday Displays
The Early Show asked viewers to submit examples of Christmas displays that leave no light unplugged.

On the manmade Balboa Island in California, Peggy Rich and Donna Dibari have have a friendly rivalry for years over whose house has the better Christmas display.
Dave Price showed viewers both on The Early Show Friday.
Rich says it takes here three weeks to set up her 50,000 lights, and her display even has a real snowman!
Dibari's has a "mere" 20,000 lights, which triple her electric bill. Among the highlights of her display: 45-foot candy canes!

Kenny Irwin, of Palm Springs, Calif., started decorating as a kid. Today, his display has over 100 inflatables, including a 50-foot Santa, working televisions and over 6 million lights. Irwin starts setting up in August and it takes until April to get them all down. His display covers four acres.

Joe Noe in Crooks, S.D., has absolutely gone the extra mile. People love his display for its looks, and its sound.
The noise doesn't bother the neighbors, because it can only be heard on your car radio.
Noe asks everyone who drives by to give a donation to the local Make-a-Wish Foundation.

In Billings, Mont., Tina, mark and Emily Bolt start setting up their 24,000 holiday lights in late September! They turn them on after Thanksgiving and leave them on until the new year arrives.
The Bolts say it makes their electric bill six times bigger than normal, but they say it's worth it.
They ask for a non-perishable food item from everyone who stops by to enjoy the lights, to benefit the local food bank.

In Boise, Idaho, Nicholas Martinez has been decorating his house for about the last ten holidays with more than 100,000 lights. It takes him weeks to set it all up, and he says the neighbors won't let him stop doing it! Martinez works for the local power company, and swears he doesn't get a discount on all that extra electricity. The display is so bright, you can see it from over a mile away!
