(CBS/What's Trending) The world was surprised on Sunday when the U.S. announced that they had killed Osama bin Laden and were in possession of the Al-Qaeda leader's body. President Barack Obama shared the news in an official press conference that was broadcast across television networks and shared online through YouTube and other online platforms.

Obama said on May 1, at his direction, a small team of American soldiers acted on information and killed bin Laden outside a mansion in Islamabad, Pakistan.
