Oops! Interoffice email exposes bra sizes of police officers
(CBS) - Like weight, most women choose to keep their bra size hush-hush. We might tell our significant others the letter-and-number combo of our busts, but that's only so we can get lingerie presents and what-not.
Imagine if that info went public? Or worse, imagine if that info made its way to your coworkers and colleagues.
That's what happened to 13 cops in the Indianapolis Police Department.
Last Tuesday, an email was sent to 37 commanders intended to tell supervisors that their officers' protective vests were ready for pickup, reports WTSP.com. Sound harmless? Not when you factor in the attachment: a spreadsheet listing the names and sizes of 91 officers, plus 13 women whose vests needed "special tailoring."
And if that wasn't mortifying enough, the spreadsheet also contained waist sizes and weight.
Department Deputy Chief Valerie Cunningham has apologized for the mishap. "We made a mistake. We want to hold ourselves to the highest professional standards. The measurements should not have been included," she said.
Several women have complained. William Owensby, president of the Indianapolis Order of Police, said the union is considering filing a grievance or legal action as a result.
