Man Lets Son Drive Because He Was Too Drunk

(CBS/AP) ELYRIA, Ohio - There are lots of ways to respond when a police officer asks you if you've been drinking behind the wheel, and we at Crimesider are familiar with all of them... or so we thought.

Police in northern Ohio say on Wednesday they approached a man during a traffic stop and asked whether he'd been drinking. The driver then took a swig from an open can of beer, and answered, "Yes."

Sometimes honesty is the only policy.

According to Cleveland's WJW-TV, the Elyria police report says 25-year-old Stephen Supers was pulled over early Wednesday because the officer caught him speeding.

The report says that after Supers took the drink in front of the officer he then failed a series of field sobriety tests, further sealing the deal.

Supers is due in court next Tuesday on charges including driving under the influence, driving under suspension and possession of marijuana.
