Obama in Ohio Today With "The Boss"
(SPRINGFIELD, MO.) - Barack Obama heads to the Buckeye state today, where he will campaign in three major metropolitan areas.
His last-minute pitch to voters in Ohio will be in mostly Democratic counties that John Kerry won in 2004. Obama has to generate a high voter turnout in the urban and suburban areas of the state in order to win in on Tuesday.
Bruce Springsteen will headline the afternoon rally in Cleveland today - at the same location where Springsteen played a John Kerry rally on election eve in 2004. Thousands are expected to attend and Michelle Obama will also be on hand.
Obama has not been to Ohio for a week now, however, several supporters, including former president Bill Clinton, have been campaigning in the state on his behalf. Obama leads McCain in most major state polls.
At a rally in Springfield, Mo., last night, Obama said the election will ultimately come down to "who wants it more." He urged supporters to be his "ambassadors" - to help make the case to those who question his experience or tax policy.
"I need you to close the deal because the time for change has come, you know it. And we've got a righteous wind at our backs."
