NY Woman Accused Of Stealing From Tot's Trust Fund

NEW CITY, N.Y. (AP) - A New York woman has been charged with stealing thousands of dollars from her son's trust fund, created after he was struck by a car while he rode a scooter as a toddler.

Prosecutors say Tenisha Eurie's son was seriously injured in the 2007 accident, when he was 21 months old. A $31,000 settlement from the accident was put into a trust fund, and a court ordered Eurie not to touch it until the boy reached 18.

Rockland County District Attorney Thomas Zugibe says Eurie spend half the money before the bank realized it.

Eurie, of Valley Cottage was arraigned Tuesday on a charge of grand larceny and released without bail. She's due back in court March 14.

The name of her attorney was not immediately available.
