NY Man Gets 25 Years In Death Of 2 Camp Counselors
QUEENSBURY, N.Y. (AP) - A 39-year-old man found guilty of drunken driving and aggravated vehicular homicide for running down two British counselors at an upstate New York summer camp has been sentenced to 25 years in prison.
Authorities say Peter Goldblatt of Indian Lake swerved and hit the two 21-year-old Camp Echo Lake counselors as they stood beside a road in the southeastern Adirondack Mountains last June. Killed were Emily Lewis of Scotland and Dominic Hartley of England.
Goldblatt was convicted in December. The Post-Star of Glens Falls reports that he received the maximum sentence Friday.
