Nikki Reed and Paul McDonald tie the knot

(CBS) "Twilight" actress Nikki Reed and "American Idol" finalist Paul McDonald are now husband and wife.

The couple exchanged vows in front of 100 guests on Sunday in Malibu, Calif., Reed's rep confirmed to Us Weekly.

"We couldn't be happier!" they told the magazine. "[We were] surrounded by our family and friends. We're so glad this day has come!"

Reid, 23, and McDonald, 27, met in March, when McDonald was among the "American Idol" Season 10 finalists that went to the Los Angeles premiere of "Red Riding Hood." They got engaged in June, after two months of dating.

"She's amazing. She's the perfect girl," he told MTV News at the time. "We fit each other. When you know, you know, and she's the one."
