New York Senators Eat Crow
Two senators from New York were eating crow Tuesday, or should we really say Raven.
Democrats Hillary Rodham Clinton and Charles Schumer made good on a Super Bowl bet with their Maryland counterparts, reading The Raven by Baltimore's favorite son, Edgar Allen Poe.
The New Yorkers had promised to read the classic macabre poem if the Giants lost the Super Bowl.
Tuesday was payday and both senators, in good humor, took to the microphone and recited their verses, as Maryland's senators, Barbaa Mikulski and Paul Sarbanes, looked on, wearing purple for their victorious Ravens.
The New York Giants met the Baltimore Ravens on the field in Tampa, Florida this past Sunday. The Ravens ran away with the game in a 34-7 rout.
And nevermore, prayed the New York senators, will the Giants lose and make them do this again.
