The new "Twin Peaks" revival releases a frighteningly massive cast list

Those characters you like are coming back into style.

If an actor was on the original "Twin Peaks" and their character didn't die, chances are they'll be included for the Showtime revival of David Lynch's groundbreaking TV drama. Lynch and his producers announced the full cast list for the new series -- which is 217 names long, reports Deadline.

Kyle MacLachlan reprises his role as FBI agent Dale Cooper, with other returning stars including Sherilyn Fenn, Mädchen Amick, David Duchovny, Ray Wise, Grace Zabriskie, Peggy Lipton and Lynch himself, among many others. Even "log lady" Catherine Coulson, who passed away last year, is included.

Notably absent, though, is Lara Flynn Boyle, who opted not to reprise her role. Even Laura Palmer herself, Sheryl Lee, is back.

But the vast majority of the 217 names belong to newcomers to the series, and among them are some of them are quite notable. Among the new additions are Naomi Watts, Amanda Seyfried, Ashley Judd, Jennifer Jason Leigh, Laura Dern, Ernie Hudson, Michael Cera, Trent Reznor, Jessica Szohr, Jane Levy and Richard Chamberlain.

What each of them have to do with whatever mystery takes hold of "Twin Peaks" this time around -- or even how much screen time they get -- is yet to be seen.
