New season of "The Bachelor" kicks off with Ben Flajnik
(CBS) The newest bachelor on ABC's latest season of "The Bachelor," Ben Flajnik, is giving love a second chance on the matchmaking show after he was rejected by "Bachelorette" Ashley Hebert on national television.
The 29-year-old winemaker from Sonoma, Calif. was introduced to his bachelorettes at a cocktail party and of course drama ensued.
In the season premiere two of the bachelorettes, blogger Jenna and dental consultant Monica, already got into a brawl.
Jenna became irritated when Monica told her that she hadn't fallen for Ben yet because she didn't really know him. When Jenna said Monica wasn't there for the right reasons she pushed her into their fellow contestants.
Another contestant who made an impression early on in the show was Lindzi, a horseback rider who rode up to the house on a horse named "The First Impression Rose," which of course won her just that. A contestant named Britney had her grandmother pretend to be a contestant then introduced her to Ben.
"That's too cute," Ben said. "I love grandmas."
In the end, Ben gave roses to 18 women Monday: Lindzi, Jamie, Rachel, Blakely, Emily, Kacie B., Casey S., Britney, Erika, Shawn, Nicki, Jennifer, Elyse, Samantha, Courtney, Jaclyn, Monica and Jenna.
