New Ky. condo owner finds 48 lbs. of pot, neighbors nabbed, say cops
(CBS/AP) COVINGTON, Ky. - Authorities say a new condo owner in northern Kentucky who opened the wrong garage door by mistake found a drug stash that put two of his neighbors behind bars.
Police said Mike Finke had just bought a unit in a Covington condominium complex and went to clean out the unit's garage. When his key jammed and the lock pulled out of the wall, Finke opened the door and found two duffel bags and a suitcase containing 48 pounds of marijuana, according to The Kentucky Enquirer, citing police reports.
It was only after Finke called police that he realized he was in the wrong garage.
Police say the garage belongs to Benjamin Bingham and Nicholas Mann. Both of those gentlemen entered not guilty pleas Monday in Kenton Circuit Court to conspiracy to traffic in marijuana.
