NJ murder suspect's mom also facing criminal charges

MOUNT LAUREL, N.J. -- A prosecutor says investigators now believe that the mother-in-law of a missing New Jersey woman may have helped her son conceal the evidence that he murdered his wife, according to CBS Philly.

Erica Crippen, 26, was last seen on New Year's Eve -- having posted a photo online before 11 p.m. -- and her husband, 28-year-old Kyle Crosby, was later arrested and charged with murder in January. Now, the main suspect's mother, Jo Crosby, also faces charges, reports the station.

Erica Crippen's body has not been found, according to CBS Philly.

In a statement, Burlington County Prosecutor Robert Bernardi said due to the ongoing investigation, the specific acts that led to charges against Jo Crosby will not be discussed at this time.

Kyle Crosby has been held in the Burlington County jail since he was charged mid-January. Crosby and Crippen were married last year and had a baby together; Crippen had a daughter from a previous relationship.

While at a traffic stop in Camden County earlier this year, Kyle Crosby allegedly ran from his car. Authorities said they found items of "evidential value" in connection with his wife's disappearance in the vehicle's trunk.
