New Jersey Home Invasion: Mother beaten in front of child; attack captured on "nanny cam," report says

(CBS/AP) MILLBURN, N.J. - Police are searching for a suspect who was caught on a nanny camera breaking into a northern New Jersey home and beating a mother of two, reports CBS New York.

The woman was in her Millburn home on Friday while her 3-year-old daughter watched cartoons on the couch when the man pushed his way into the house, according to the report.

The man allegedly punched and kicked the woman, whose name has not been released.

 "He brutally beat me in front of my daughter," the woman told the station. "She watched the whole thing."

The attack was recorded on a nanny cam and shows the man busting through a locked back door and then repeatedly attacking the woman, the station reports. The victim told the station she was making breakfast at the time the man broke in.

The suspect allegedly fled with several pieces of jewelry including the woman's wedding ring. The mother was reportedly hospitalized and is expected to make full recovery.
