New Danish Fighter Spillover for Terma
Terma is the largest defense contractor in Denmark. With revenue of only $177 million it pales compared to the big U.S. and European companies though. Now DefenseNews is reporting that Terma hopes to gain significant work when the country chooses its new fighter to replace its aging F-16 fleet. The company has already signed teaming agreements with two of the bidders -- SAAB and Lockheed. Northrop Grumman is the third company proposing. The Danish government is expected to announce this year which aircraft it is choosing. Terma is already part of the JSF team making some components for the aircraft. The potential for the new fighter contract is estimated at $1.8 billion over time if the Gripen made by SAAB is chosen. This again goes to illustrate the diverse nature of the defense industry and how integrated it it.
