Neil Diamond gets 2011 Billboard Icon Award
(CBS) There were at least two singalong versions of "Sweet Caroline" out there in the world last night: One at Fenway Park in the middle of the eighth inning and another in Las Vegas during Neil Diamond's acceptance of the 2011 Billboard Icon Award.

According to Billboard.com, the singer quipped, "I don't know exactly what it means to be an icon, but I always wanted to be one."
Diamond was given the award to honor the "cultural impact of an artist" with more than 128 million albums sold worldwide, 39 top 10 singles and 18 platinum albums, reports Billboard.
"Glee" star Matthew Morrison presented Diamond with the award.
Other big winners at the 2011 Billboard Music Awards were Eminem, Justin Bieber, Beyonce and Taylor Swift. Diamond was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame in March.
