Neighbors: "Hot Dog Hooker" at it again -- from new spot

EAST ROCKAWAY, N.Y. -- A New York woman is being accused of offering sex-for-hire services again -- this time from her front yard.

Her Long Island neighbors tell CBS New York that Cathy Scalia -- previously dubbed the "Hot Dog Hooker" -- has returned to her old ways.

Four years ago, the 49-year-old mother of four boys earned her nickname after pleading guilty to offering sex to undercover officers from a hot dog stand. She served five days in jail in 2012 on those charges. Town officials have since shut down the stand.

CBS New York found Scalia lounging in her front yard, clinging to a large pillow offering a topless lap dance inside her home.

She said what she does is no different than what happens in strip clubs. "Lunch and a lap dance, that's what you get," Scalia said.

She insisted there is no sex involved with her lunch lap dances, and claimed she just takes donations.

"If I were a belly dancer, would you put me behind bars?" Scalia asked.

Neighbors are outraged that their kids can see a scantily-clad Scalia in her front yard.

"She's an absolute disgrace to our community," Lou Amerada told CBS New York. "I think it's more of a mental illness more than anything else."

Amerada is also concerned about the "sexy sign" Scalia holds up on her front lawn.

"We have young, impressionable children in this neighborhood. We can't have a woman like this and flashing signs like this in a residential area," he told the station.

Despite Scalia's claims of innocence, Nassau County police have warned her not to post any signs offering illegal services anywhere on her property. They've also stepped up their patrols to see if Scalia is running an illegal adult cabaret from inside her home.

Scalia, however, doesn't seem too worried.

"We're going to change the name, the 'Hot Dog Hooker,"' she told CBS New York. "We're going to change it to the 'Hot Dog Honey!"'

Town officials are monitoring the police investigation of neighbors' complaints.
