Nate Dogg's funeral scheduled for Saturday

(CBS) Funeral services for Nathaniel Hale - rapper Nate Dogg - will be held Saturday in Long Beach, Calif. Nate Dogg died March 15 at 41. He had suffered strokes in 2007 and 2008.

Nate Dogg's sister said the service will be open to the public, according to the Long Beach Press-Telegram. A viewing will take place Friday, reports the Press-Telegram. No cameras are allowed at either event.

The hook singer first came to national attention on Dr. Dre's 1992 masterpiece "The Chronic." Nate earned the first of four Grammy nominations in 1995 for "Regulate," a collaboration with Warren G. His fourth and most recent nomination came for Eminem's "Shake That" in 2007.

When news of Nate Dogg's death broke, his friends and collaborators sent messages out about him on the Internet, including a number of tweets from Snoop Dogg, "Nate Dogg" quickly became a trend. The Press-Telegram reports that Nate Dogg's sister briefly opened her Facebook page to the public to manage communications.

Nate Dogg released several solo albums, including a self-titled effort in 2008.
