Even before the 10 p.m. ET season premiere on MTV, the group's stay in Italy made a series of headlines.

Most notable was Nicole "Snooki" Polizzi's arrest for crashing into an Italian police car. The crash resulted in one of the officers being  taken to the hospital.

The show had trouble settling into  its new home in Florence, Italy, as the city's mayor Matteo Renzi issued a series of rules the cast had to follow during the visit. Renzi, worried about the show's reputation for heavy drinking and partying, established rules in hopes to prevent Florence from being portrayed in a negative light. Rules included the cast couldn't be filmed drinking in public or filmed in bars that served alcohol.

Despite the rules it appears the "Jersey Shore" cast was still able to have a party going, with the birthplace of Renaissance art as their backdrop.
