Motivation and Teamwork: Video

Well, it's "sharpen the saw day again" -- as we go into the holiday season. Before giving you your weekly dose of inspiration, I'll share an observation based upon my experienced working in a dysfunctional organization for about five years.

I discovered that the best time build positive relationships with co-workers was in the week between Christmas and New Years. The big wigs (who were responsible for the insanity) ALWAYS took those days off, because there would be few employees to bully. And the big wig's toadies also took those days off because, well, there weren't any important posteriors to kiss.

That left the fundamentally decent people who, like myself, were holding their vacation days to get a break from the insanity that was the norm.

Even better, because the big wigs were absent, everyone would come in 10am and leave about 2pm -- and nobody noticed or cared. And while there, it was strictly Christmas cookies and hanging around.

Frankly, it was the only time I felt really happy in that awful place. Anyway, in light of that, here's a video that expresses the positive aspect of working with a good group of people.
