Montia Parker Update: Former Minn. high school cheerleader gets 3 years for prostituting squad member
(CBS/AP) MINNEAPOLIS - Montia Parker, an 18-year-old former suburban Minneapolis high school cheerleading captain, was sentenced to three years in prison Friday for prostituting a younger squad member.
Parker will spend at least two years behind bars before she's eligible for release.
The teen previously pleaded guilty to three prostitution-related counts.
The victim's sister told Hennepin County District Court Judge William Koch that Parker manipulated a girl with a learning disability who trusted her friend.
Parker admitted telling the 16-year-old cheerleader at Hopkins High School that she could earn money through prostitution. After the girl agreed, Parker placed an ad for the girl online and then took her to an apartment where the girl was paid for performing oral sex. The girl gave $60 to Parker, who kept the money.
