Mo'Nique speaks up for marriage equality

(CBS) Mo'Nique has partnered with the Human Rights Campaign to help urge people to support giving marriage rights to the LGBT community. The actress filmed a PSA for the organization for their Americans for Marriage Equality campaign.

"We're so grateful to Mo'Nique for lending her voice for this important effort," Joe Solmonese, HRC's president, said in a statement. "American public opinion only moves one direction on marriage equality - and that's toward it."

In the video, the actress said, "Gay and lesbian couples believe in commitment, family and love. Join me and support marriage equality. It's the right thing to do."

Human Rights Campaign is a civil rights organization working to achieve LGBT equality, as well as end discrimination. Mo'Nique's ad will run online, with possible placement elsewhere.
