Man confesses murder to mom while cops listen in

MINNEAPOLIS - A man confessed to murdering a woman during a conversation with his mother in which she put him on a speaker phone in front of police, reports CBS Minnesota.

Twenty-five-year-old Brian Jourdain, of Bemidji, Minn., reportedly confessed on the call to stabbing 35-year-old Krista Fisherman to death and when his mother asked him why, he said, "She pissed me off."

Fisherman, of Redby, was found bleeding to death on a Bemidji street Friday night. She had been stabbed four times, according to the station, and was rushed to a hospital where she later died.

According to the station, investigators say surveillance video from a department store near the crime scene showed Fisherman walking with a man -- later identified as Jourdain -- right before the stabbing.

Police went to Jourdain's mother's home, where his mother reportedly told investigators her son had recently contacted his grandmother.

In text messages sent from Jourdain's grandmother to his mother, the grandmother stated, "He's drunk. He said he stabbed [Fisherman] and needs a ride up here ASAP," reports the station.

Jourdain's mother then called her son on speaker phone with police present and he confessed, reports the station.

Jourdain then reportedly told his mother he was at a Bemidji McDonald's and needed a ride to the Red Lake Indian Reservation. Police drove to the restaurant and arrested him.

Jourdain is currently being held in the Beltrami County Jail. He faces two counts of second-degree murder, CBS Minnesota reported.
