Mick Can't Get No Knighthood
He can't get no satisfaction - and, apparently, no knighthood.
British Prime Minister Tony Blair's office on Sunday denied reports he had blocked Rolling Stones pop legend Mick Jagger from being knighted by Queen Elizabeth on New Year's Eve.
A Downing Street spokeswoman said media reports claiming Blair had decided against a knighthood for Jagger because the rock star's high profile love life jarred with the government's family values drive were "not true."
The Queen's press spokesman was not immediately available for comment on the reports, which claimed the Queen had no objection to honoring the aging pop idol.
Jagger, 56, was tipped for a New Year honor, but knighthoods were awarded to two other rockers from his generation -- Sir Elton John and Sir Paul McCartney.
