Melissa Rivers stages a "skintervension"
(CBS) You've probably heard of an intervention -- but how about "skintervension" for someone who you think has had one too many plastic surgeries?
In the season premiere of WE TV's reality show, "Joan & Melissa: Joan Knows Best?," Joan Rivers wants another cosmetic procedure: "a tune-up on her neck." Daughter Melissa Rivers tries to convince her mother to stop going under the knife by staging a "skintervention."
Pictures: Joan Rivers"I don't want you to die," Melissa tells her 78-year-old mother in the episode, airing Tuesday (Jan. 24). She gets friends and family together to persuade Joan to quit her cosmetic surgery "addiction."
"My body is a temple, and my temple needs redecorating," Joan argues.
But the skintervention fails; Joan ends up going through with the cosmetic procedure. "The whole thing with plastic surgery is you should know what you need," said Joan in an interview on WE. "I'm on television. I need my face to look good."
