NEW YORK (CBS) Mel Gibson's road back to the spotlight will now include a short cameo in "The Hangover 2."
The Academy Award-winning actor landed a star cameo as a Bangkok tattoo artist, according to published reports.
Sources tell the New York Post the appearance is a "done deal," adding "Mel is expected to film his role in two weeks."
Gibson has been laying low while he deals with the legal hang-ups and backlash surrounding his bitter split with.
It is not known whether Gibson's "Hangover 2" character will reference his current real-life problems. But the original movie did much to reinvent Mike Tyson's image from a troubled drug user into a comedic actor.
